Andrew Scott is not new to the business. However, at the age of 47, this Irish actor has undergone a radical career change in recent years. In his latest project Ripley, available on Netflix, he plays the iconic character of American detective fiction, Thomas Ripley. He joins a long list of actors who have already played the role on screen, from Alain Delon to Matt Damon.

In this series, shot entirely in black and white, the actor lends his qualities to a cold, calculating, ambiguous and terrifyingly dangerous man. From all accounts, he carries this entire project on his shoulders and dazzles with his icy delivery.

Actor Andrew Scott landed his first role at the crossroads of the 1990s with the Irish film Korea. In 1997, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks were preparing to save Private Ryan in Ireland. Andrew Scott is cast as a soldier who meets his tragic death.

Unfortunately, Disney – with whom he had just signed on to make a TV movie – prevented him from taking the role. The actor is in the film, but his participation is drastically reduced to a few seconds on screen without dialogue.

A loyal actor

2024 is an important year for the actor. In January, she starred in Our Unknown, a fantasy drama alongside Paul Mezcal, for which she received multiple nominations.
