One bus of the Cootravipa company fell in Av. Oscar Pereira, in Porto Alegre, after a breakdown in Brakes of the vehicle. The accident occurred near the Primeiro de Maio health center, between the health center and Teixeirinha’s house. The driver reportedly lost control of the bus as it traveled down the avenue, deciding to throw it to the side of the road in an attempt to stop it.
The accident resulted injuries for the driver, who reported pain in his right arm, right leg and spine. He had visible swelling on his arm and had difficulty moving after the accident. The driver was rescued on site by the SAMU and the EPTC (Public Transport and Traffic Company) was also present to provide assistance.
Despite the scare and the damage caused to the vehicle, only the driver was on the bus at the time of the accident and he is in stable condition after receiving medical treatment. The overturning of the bus caused traffic disruption in the region, requiring measures to restore normality on the road.
