The plot of Quantum Code: NBC’s reboot is getting clearer

The plot of the Code Quantum reboot is getting clearer. Quantum Leap picks up 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett (played by Scott Bakula in the original series) entered a time accelerator and disappeared. TVLine.

Airing from 1989 to 1993, Quantum Code followed the adventures of physicist Sam Beckett, who was trapped in the past under a different identity. During each episode, he switches bodies in the past to replace an item he dropped in the past. Sam is always accompanied during his time travel by Al, a holographic companion played by Dean Stockwell.

In the reboot, a new team led by physicist Ben Song (played by Raymond Lee, Kevin Kahn F**k, and the Prodigal Son) is assembled to revive the Quantum Leap Project in hopes of unraveling the mysteries of time. The Accelerator and the Disappearance of Doctor Beckett.

However, things don’t go as planned as Ben jumps back in time and leaves his team behind. Without a physicist, Herbert “Magic” William, Ian Wright, and Jen Chow try to figure out what happened.

In turn, Beckett is accompanied by Addison (played by Caitlin Bassett), whom only he can see and hear. He is a decorated Army veteran who advises her on her adventures.

After Beckett’s departure, Herbert “Magic” William (Ernie Hudson, known for his roles in the Ghostbusters franchise, Family Business and Grace and Frankie) took over as head of the quantum leap project. Herbert is a professional soldier who must answer to his superiors, who are not happy to learn of a breach of established protocol.

He is also an adult, older version of the character of the same name who appeared in the second episode of Season 3 of the original series. He met Sam Beckett during the Vietnam War, when the latter saved his brother Tom Beckett’s life from an ambush.

Herbert is joined by Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park seen in Cowboy Bebop and the upcoming Sandman series on Netflix), who heads an artificial intelligence named “Ziggy,” and Jen Chow (Nanrisa Lee), who heads the project’s digital security.

While Ben jumps from life to life, undoing his past in the process, the rest of the team will do anything to get him back home. Because if they don’t act fast, they know they risk losing it forever.

The series will be broadcast on NBC in the USA from September 19. At the moment, no release date has been announced in France.
