In the heart of Los Angeles, an aspiring actress named Mia serves coffee between auditions. Meanwhile, Sebastian, a jazz enthusiast, plays piano in seedy clubs to support himself. Both are far from the dream life they desire… Fate will bring these sweet dreamers together, but will their love at first sight resist the temptations, disappointments and hectic life of Hollywood?




This is the proposal of the brilliant musical La La Land – The seasons of songwonderful homage to the genre released in theaters in 2017. Winner of six Oscars (and almost 7, everyone believed it for a few unlikely minutes!), the feature film starring Emma Stone AND Ryan Gosling (How can you not fall in love with this duo?) It’s a joy to watch all the time, a great cinematic moment to (re)discover on the back of the sofa.

Director Damien Chazelle has a special affinity with the musical genre. His Harvard graduation film and his first feature film, Guy and Madeline on a park bench, was a black and white love story told through song and dance. Since then, you have harbored a desire to make a much more ambitious musical.

“This film was just a sketch of what I really wanted to do in this genre”he says. “So, I continued writing screenplays until I had an idea for a larger musical that followed the same codes: a musical about real life, but faithful to the spectacular works of the genre, shot in Cinemascope and Technicolor in the 19th century.
