“Let It Be”: The Beatles’ Lost Movie Comes to Disney+ in May

Published for the first time in 1970, in the whirlwind of emotions caused by the breakup of the Beatles, Let it be now arrives in the Disney+ catalog. It will be the first time the film has been available in over 50 years.

Previously viewed negatively due to the timing of its release, the film is now considered an important part of the iconic band’s history.‌ Michael Lindsay-Hogg, director of the film, states that Let it be was ready for release in October/November 1969, but this did not occur until April 1970.

A month before the release, however, the Beatles officially broke up. And so people went to see the film with the sadness of knowing that they would never see the quartet together again. According to him, this has completely changed the public’s perception of the work.

But according to Michael Lindsay-Hogg the film immortalizes the band’s great moments. The film shows John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr working together enthusiastically and joyfully.
