Melissa Barrera wants to participate in reboot of Everybody in Panic

Fired from Scream, the actress wants to participate in the new film in the comedy franchise, which is known for parodying horror films

Melissa Barrera may not return as Sam Carpenter in the seventh film of Panicbut the actress is very interested in participating in the reboot in Everybody in panica new chapter in the comedy franchise, known for parodying horror films, which was recently confirmed.

“I’ve always loved these movies. When I saw the ad [do novo filme], I thought, ‘Oh, that would be fun. That would be really fun to do'”the actress revealed to Inverse. However, so far, Paramount Pictures, which will produce the reboot, has not announced any names in the new cast.

Barrerawho played the daughter of Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), current final girl in Panicwas fired in November 2023 for demonstrating support for Palestine amid the conflict with Israel. “I come from a colonized country”wrote the actress, adding the emoji of a Mexican flag, in reference to his home country.

“Palestine will be free! They tried to bury us, [mas] Little did they know we were seeds”continued Barrera.

“Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp”he said in another publication. “Trapping everyone together, with nowhere to go, no electricity, no water… People haven’t learned anything from our history. And just like our stories, people still silently watch everything happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE AND CLEANING ETHNIC”concluded the actress.

According to Spyglass Media Group, producer of the new film in the franchise, Barrera was reportedly fired for “incitement to hatred”: “Spyglass’ position is unequivocally clear: we have zero tolerance for anti-Semitism or hate speech in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, distortion of the Holocaust, or anything that blatantly crosses the line into hate speech.”declared in a statement to Variety.
