While the production faced some setbacks due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023, director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin confirmed in an interview with “Variety” that Angus Cloud shot all of his scenes and dialogue before he died, so there was no need for digital recreations or substitutions: “Every element of Angus is Angus in the film. There isn’t even an off-camera ADR line that we needed for the story. It’s all Angus.”

The horror film is a tribute to the late actor, as the credits feature a legend that reads ‘In Loving Memory’, along with the actor’s autograph within the outline of a cloud.
Additionally, the film’s creative team tried to honor Angus Cloud’s memory and work as much as possible: “Everyone involved really wanted to make sure we finished the film strong and did Angus justice. We feel a responsibility,” Bettinelli-Olpin told “Variety.”
