Anthracite on Netflix: How did Jean-Marc Barry rejuvenate?

In Anthracite, Netflix’s new French series released on the online platform on April 10, Ida, played by Noemi Schmidt, goes to a small village in the Alps to find her father, Solal Heilmann, who was kidnapped a few days ago.

While it’s quite common to use make-up and other tricks to age actors, it’s more difficult to do the same to make them look younger. For Anthracite, the production chose Jean-Marc Barry’s 30-year vacation thanks to special effects.

Unlike her peers who sometimes had to spend hours on make-up, as was the case with Hatiq and her huge scar on her back, she made virtually no effort to look youthful.
