The team removed a record amount of waste
The city of Venice, Italy, organized this Sunday (21st) the last operation of the 2023/24 season to clean its traditional canals.
The rubbish accumulated in Murano was collected by the gondoliers themselves, who removed a record amount of waste from the bottom of the canal.
The cleanup team removed approximately 1,600 kilograms of waste, including ferrous materials, pipes, cell phones, tires, a washing machine and even a scooter.
The gondoliers who took part in the action were assisted by divers from the Guardia di Finanza, who participated in the operation for the first time. .
