Tonight on Netflix: With summer just around the corner, this very enjoyable movie will make you want to go back to camp

July 3, 1992. Vincent Russo, standing on the Gare de Lyon platform, prepares to take over as summer camp director. Moments before the arrival of all the children who will soon leave her care in Poitou-Charentes, she gets to know her entertainment team and gradually realizes that it won’t be easy for her to stay. An intuition that is confirmed when meeting the residents and leaving the train.

Between Benoit’s suffering, Guillaume’s million questions, Youssef’s lost belongings and the many love stories that blossom between the teenagers but also between the instructors, the holidays promise to be especially interesting!

A human and sincere comedy

Sure, we’re not into summer yet, but why not get ahead of schedule and treat yourself to a little movie vacation while you wait for the big one?

The second feature, a co-directed film by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, adapted from their own short film, Our Happy Days, is without a doubt one of his directors’ funnest and feel-good work.

Rated 3,815 out of 5 stars by AlloCiné internet users, this human and heartfelt comedy draws directly from the memories of two directors who attended summer camps as animators in their younger years.

Based on experience and with a lot of humor, they manage to create an equally fun and authentic entertainment that will surely remind all viewers of their own holiday camps.

Keep the group alive

Above all, Our Happy Days perfectly captures Toledano and Nakache’s greatest qualities: their ability to bring a cast of characters to life, to develop a team spirit among their cast. In this they are obviously helped by the excellent casting, namely Jean-Paul Rouve, Marilou Berry, Omar Sy (whom they will meet several times later) and the completely crazy Josephine de Meo. It is impossible to forget his legendary face-off with little Benoit.

So if you’re looking for a good way to get ready for summer while enjoying a nice movie night with family or friends, I encourage you to catch (or rediscover) this unforgettable little nugget.
