Open TV continues to be the favorite study program for Brazilians

Streaming, YouTube, social networks… Today there are several options for those looking for entertainment and information. Nonetheless, the Kantar Ibope Media survey reveals that open TV continues to be preferred by Brazilians.

The survey shows that, in 2023, Brazilians were also the largest consumers of open TV among all Latin American countries. Here 68% of the population watches programs an average of five hours a day.

The study also states that the preference for open television may have as its main factor the diversity of content offered by channels, in addition to traditional programming that remains preserved, which brings immediate identification to the public.

‌On the other hand, broadcasters have tried to diversify their programming. To this end, collaborations with independent producers have been expanded with the aim of producing new national and regional content.

‌The audiovisual consuming public is interested in quality content, with a focus on cost-benefit ratio and will always seek the best content wherever it is best offered. Therefore, the greater the diversity of Brazilian open TV programming, the greater the number of interested viewers.

‌For Straccia, open television will continue to grow in the coming years. The forecast is based on investments in service modernization that have taken place in different segments of the business.
