Chrome’s PDF viewer should soon get an option that lets you delete and sign documents in this format
Soon, anyone using the Google Chrome will no longer need to use other applications to manually sign or annotate PDF documents. This is because the browser is preparing for the arrival of a feature that allows you to take notes natively, using for example a digital pen or your finger.
The novelty had been anticipated in X (ex Twitter) by the leaker known as @Leopeva64. This is a flag, i.e. an item in the Chrome extra actions menu that indicates support for the new feature.
The element is present in version 126 of Chrome Canary, the most unstable test version of the browser. When you access the chrome://flags menu, you can activate the “PDF Ink Signatures” option, but it is not yet available: when you activate it, the function is no longer usable, which indicates that the implementation phase is still recent.
Without depending on third parties
The big advantage of this type of feature is that it gives more power to the PDF viewer in Chrome. Your browser is already capable of opening this type of file without depending on other apps or websites to edit PDFs.
Once it works, whenever you need to put your signature on a file like this or even take manual notes while reading something, you just need to use Chrome’s editing tool.

When it arrives?
Since the new feature is still being implemented and cannot be activated even in the Canary version, it is not possible to know when it will be made public.
It is worth mentioning that it is not uncommon for assets at this stage to be abandoned or remain in testing for months before their release, so there is no prediction in this regard.
