With Wagner Moura and Kirsten Dunst, Civil war continue to collect documents. After an excellent debut in the United States and a record box office in Brazil, the production reached the $70 million mark globally, becoming A24’s fifth highest-grossing film.
Considering the box office in all countries where it was shown, Civil war it is (for now) second only to Everything everywhere at the same time ($144 million), Speak with me ($92 million), Hereditary ($82 million) and Lady Bird: It’s time to fly ($78 million).
Directed and written by Alex Garland, the production portrays an unprecedented war in the United States, in which states decide to secede from the federal government.
The film then follows a group of journalists who travel the country in a dystopian future. The cast of Civil war also includes Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jesse Plemmons and Nick Offerman. Check out the trailer here!
