‘Bridgerton’: This is Benedict and Sophie’s romance, according to the books (will we see it in the series?)

The romances experienced by the young people of the Bridgerton family were captured in Julia Quinn’s book series and in 2020 they were transferred to the screen in the form of a series, thanks to Netflix.

The first two seasons followed the order of the books, with the stories of Daphne and Antonis. However, although the series was expected to continue with Benedict, the producers changed plans and season 3 will be based on the fourth book (Colin and Penelope).

Benedict and Sophie’s Love Story Netflix Skipped in ‘Bridgerton 3’

According to the epic series, the third titled “An Offer from a Gentleman” (in Spanish “I give you my heart”) focuses on Benedict Bridgerton, but the series will show in its third season the romance between Colin Bridgerton and by Penelope Featherington, although this belongs to the fourth book ‘Seducing Mr. Bridgerton.”

This change was important for the followers of the literary work, since it changed the faithful order of the texts. In fact, although Benedict appeared in the first two seasons, nothing has been mentioned about his love life and now, we will explain it to you.

Benedict is the second son of Violet Ledger and Edmund Bridgerton, and although he is initially not interested in marriage, everything changes when he meets a mysterious woman at a ball thrown by his mother.

As in a fairy tale, Benedict falls in love with Sophie Beckett, the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, who hides her face with a mask during the event. Frightened, the young woman flees the place to prevent her evil stepmother, Araminta, from recognizing her.

Benedict asks her if he can see her again, but she never answers and leaves the place. Two years later, both meet again and according to the plot, Sophie was working as a maid until then. However, to help her, Benedict takes her to serve in his house, all this after she helped him when he fell ill.

The two begin to feel an inevitable attraction, and the strange thing is that Benedict did not know that she was the lady he had danced with at that masquerade ball until the secret was revealed. As a result, they fall in love and marry, after Sophie ends up in prison due to her stepmother’s fraud, which causes a Bridgerton to mate with someone from a different social class for the first time.

Sophie Beckett has been compared to Cinderella

Since the release of I Give You My Heart, it has been commented that the story is very similar to the Cinderella story, as Sophie has an evil stepmother and meets her prince charming at a ball from which she rushes away .

Although it is expected that Benedict and Sophie’s love drama will be reflected in the fourth season, there is a strong theory on the Internet that contradicts this possibility. They argue that Netflix could skip this storyline since Sophie’s character has never been introduced in the series.
