Netflix: Wednesday Gets Westworld Star For Season 2!

Last week we announced the arrival of Steve Buscemi as the new headmaster of Nevermore Academy for Season 2 on Wednesday. While filming is set to begin in the coming days, variety We’re told this second season will welcome a newcomer: Thandiwe Newton. But details about his character are still under wraps!

It will be interesting to discover what Thandie Newton has in store for Wednesday Adams on the hit Netflix series when it arrives in late 2022. Will he be the young girl’s ally or foe?

The actor has had a number of notable and diverse television roles throughout his career, most recently in the HBO series Westworld. The role for which she was nominated three times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, which she won in 2018.

She also starred in Slap (the American version of the excellent Australian series), Big Mouth, Rogue and of course Emergency as Dr. Cam Likasu, Dr. Carter’s wife. In film, Thandiwe Newton is known for appearing in films such as Mission: Impossible 2, The Pursuit of Happyness, 2012 and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The second season is shrouded in mystery

Few details are available about Wednesday’s new season, except that Jenna Ortega will return as an Addams family daughter going through a (essentially) difficult adolescence.

The first season ended with the anti-heroine solving a series of gruesome murders while attempting to destroy Nevermore Academy and its students.

Launching in November 2022, Wednesdays immediately became a huge hit on Netflix. It is one of the most-watched series in the platform’s history and has been nominated for 12 Emmys, winning four. Work on the second season has been delayed due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes that shut down much of Hollywood in 2023, but production is expected to begin in Ireland at the end of April.
