’28 Years Later’: the new remake of ‘Exterminio’
The film, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Cillian Murphy, Naomi Harris, Brendan Gleeson and Christopher Eccleston, proved to be an instant hit presenting a post-apocalyptic story that instilled genuine fear in viewers.
A sequel was made in 2007 which failed and ended up being rejected by horror fans. However, to everyone’s surprise, 22 years after its premiere, ‘Exterminio’ has been confirmed to have a new version.
According to the portal “Deadline”, Sony Pictures is planning to create a complete trilogy called “28 Years Later”, which Boyle will again direct. As if that wasn’t enough, another fact that makes it interesting is that two famous actors will be involved: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for films like “Kick-Ass”, “Bullet Train” or “Nowhere Boy”, and Ralph. Fiennes, a character known for bringing to life the famous villain Lord Voldemort in the “Harry Potter” saga.

Nothing is known yet about the release date of the remake of ’28 Days Later’, since everything indicates that the first steps are being taken in the production, that is to continue the selection of the main actors and to finish the script that will be by Alex Garland. .
The first impressions from the news on the Internet were mixed, because although some thought this project was a great idea, others simply dismissed it because the story would be recycled and might not offer anything new.
Others regret that Cillian Murphy is not involved, as ‘Extermination’ was one of the films that catapulted him to stardom.
