My Little Reindeer: Pause 10 minutes into the first episode, recognize this combination of numbers?

It’s been a little over a week, and it’s the series everyone’s talking about, and it’s topped Netflix’s charts without the slightest promotion. My Little Reindeer surprised Netflix subscribers with this touching story about a young man, Donnie, who is a little lost in his life and is being harassed by Martha, a completely disturbed woman.

Donnie’s story is really real. And Richard Gad, creator and performer of the level, recounts the four years of hell he endured working as a bar waiter while aspiring to become a well-known comedian. He goes further and recounts a terrifying experience he had a few years earlier that explains why the helpless Martha (Jessica Gunning) finds herself facing harassment.

A delicious hit for Lost fans

If the subject is serious, Richard Gad still manages to make us laugh – even through gritted teeth – with his heart-wrenching story. And that doesn’t stop him from slipping in a subtle allusion that some diehard watchers of the series have picked up on. You have to be really observant and have good eyesight to understand this!

From scene 1 of the episode, if we pause 10 minutes in, we see that Don is inundated with emails from his stalker, Martha. by mail, and it describes his email address as made up of a “random series of numbers, like spam.”

However, The Independent’s culture editor Jacob Stallworthy noticed that the numbers used in the address actually correspond to a famous series of cursed numbers that appear frequently in the cult TV series Lost. He even posted it on Twitter:

My Little Deer: The Stalker’s Email The “spam-like numbers and letters” used in the mail address are actually LOST’s cursed digits.

What were those damn numbers?

Lost , which celebrates its 20th anniversary next September (already!), follows the survivors of a plane crash who find themselves stranded on a mysterious island. Over the course of six seasons, numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 are constantly recurring and regularly appear in flashbacks showing the lives of the main characters before the plane crash.

They are very important in the Lost Mythology. They each match up with one of the final candidates to replace Jacob (Mark Pellegrino) as the island’s protector. These numbers also form the coefficients of the equation that predicts human extinction. Only this !

Does Martha have such a malevolent power? Richard Gad obviously doesn’t go that far in his story, but it clearly shows how much it poisoned his life.

My Little Reindeer is currently available on Netflix.
