Things really took off for Kevin Sorbo in 1994 when he was cast as the famous demigod in Hercules and the Amazons, soon followed by four more TV movies (The Forgotten Realm, Ring of Fire, The Dark World and Labyrinth of the Minotaur). It was a success that prompted the channel to commission a series entirely centered around the character and produced by Sam Raimi.
Kevin Sorbo (Hercules)
The first season of Hercules introduces the character of Xena, played by Lucy Lawless, who will be allowed to have her own series and several crossovers with Hercules. Kevin Sorbo produced 6 seasons of the series, but due to health reasons, he was forced to attend less and less and was gradually put aside.
By performing most of his stunts, Sorbo damaged his body as he confided to him The Lou Diamond Podcast :
4 heart attacks on the set!
At the end of season 5 I had problems up and down my left arm (…). I did most of my stunts on the show and we had 3 fights per episode. (…) I had great stunts, but I also got bumps, cuts, bruises and actually hid an aneurysm.
Blood clots caused by this injury caused the actor to suffer four heart attacks and spent three years recovering after the series ended, including four months just to walk normally.
The series will allow her to, among other things, meet her husband, Sam Jenkins, now Sam Sorbo, as of Season 3, Episode 8. She would reprise her role as Serena, half female, half doe, in five other episodes in Seasons 5 and 6.

Hercules
After health problems, Kevin Sorbo returned to work with a vengeance and made a large number of films (about 4 to 5 a year), most of which were not released directly to video in France or at all. The failure of the big production Kull the Conqueror, which should have catapulted him to movie stardom in 1997, limited him to the small screen (Newport Beach, Supergirl) and smaller films.
Her last notable series was Andromeda, an SF series in which she starred from 2000 to 2005. Co-created by Gene Roddenberry from Star Trek, he portrayed Dylan Hunt, the captain of the ship Andromeda, trying to restore balance to the galaxy. .
