Committed to entertainment in Brazil, Amazon held the Prime Video Showcase on Wednesday (24th), an event that brought numerous streaming innovations to the country. In addition to highlighting the platform’s success here, the company has provided spoilers about new original content, such as the first trailer for The park maniaca film that will present the story of one of Brazil’s most famous serial killers and information about Animal racea new dystopian film that will take place in Rio de Janeiro.

Directed by Maurício Eça, The park maniac will have Silvero Pereira as the killer. The cast also includes Bruno Garcia, Mel Lisboa, Xamã, Christian Malheiros and Bruna Mascarenhas.
Featuring scenes from the city of São Paulo, the trailer showed that the production will tell the story of the killer from the point of view and investigation of the police. The track, which follows a tense atmosphere, showed the motorcycle courier (Silvero) walking around the city preparing for attacks, while authorities raced against time with dozens of cases of similar deaths. In the film Giovanna Grigio plays Elena, a novice reporter who decides to dedicate herself to the case. The arrest of the killer, as well as sketches, also appeared in the film’s preview.
For those who don’t remember, park maniac is how the motorcycle courier Francisco de Assis Pereira became known, convicted of attacking 21 women, killing ten and hiding their bodies in the Parque do Estado, in Sao Paulo, at late 90s.
Prime Video also showed the trailer for the third and final season of Suna hit crime series with names like Gabriel Leone, Isabella Santoni and Fábio Lago. According to the streamer, the new episodes will arrive on the platform on May 24.

With few details, Prime Video didn’t reveal much Animal race, which continues with the cast names under lock and key. The futuristic thriller will be directed not only by Meirelles, but also by Ernesto Solis and Rodrigo Pesavento. According to a report by Veja, the production will be the most expensive in the entire history of national cinema.
Prime Video in Brazil
With an investment of over R$5 billion, Brazil is one of the main markets for Prime Video. According to Louise Faleiros, Country Manager of the platform in the country, “Brazil is among the 5 largest markets in the world among Prime Video Channel subscribers”.
Focused on centralizing relevant content in one place, the platform has more than 20 additional channels, including Max, Paramount, Telecine and more. And, according to Paulo Koelle, head of Prime Video for Latin America, the intention is to release more.
The customer is the one who determines the future. We have already invested more than R$5 billion in content here. And the investment continues.
In addition to original content, Prime Video highlighted that, in the case of Brazil, it continues to focus primarily on sports content. With an ever-growing audience, seamless live sport is the company’s priority for the country.
It’s worth mentioning that Amazon relaunched MGM+ in Brazil this month. The channel, which can be purchased through a Prime Video Channels subscription, will make highly successful film franchises available here, such as Rocky, Creed, Legally Blonde AND Killer toy.
