‘He had a plan in his head…’: Pierre Nini explains why he gained weight over Netflix fiasco

Starting Tuesday, April 30, 2024, Netflix users can start watching a new French series on the platform called Fiasco. Here, we take a look at the absolutely chaotic shoot of the young director’s first film, completely overwhelmed by the horrific events that befell him…

Pierre Nin in the shoes of a young old fashioned director

The main role of these comics is played by Pierre Nin. So he plays the apprentice filmmaker Raphael alongside Geraldine Nakache, Pascal Demolon, Leslie Medina, Louise Coldeff, Francois Civil and Igor Gottsman. The latter is also responsible for production. He and Pierre Nin also co-wrote the script, along with Nikolas Slomka and Tanya Gottsman.

In Fiasco, which we will soon find at the Cannes Film Festival, the Count of Monte Cristo (presented out of competition) appears relatively out of place. Pierre Nini confided in the program on April 23 daily He even voluntarily gained weight to better portray Raphael.

“I felt disgusting”

Igor Gottesman (also a guest on TMC that day, along with Geraldine Nakache) recalled, before Pierre Nin spoke on the subject: “I saw him eating more and more as he wrote and I wondered, “What the hell is going on?” And in fact, he had a plan in mind…

A key stakeholder then explained:I ate quite a bit, because I told myself that my character was quite uncomfortable in his own skin, never very comfortable… So I thought, when I saw in the mirror four or five kilos overweight, a small goitre, glasses. The cup cut, robe, bad Harry Potter mode from Wish, was very good .”

So I drank quite a bit and it was quite nice! I thought I was disgusting, but playing Raphael helped me a lot– said Pierre Nini with humor and whom we meet in excellent form in Fiasco, as well as all his partners on the screen.

A series that can only be found on Netflix now.
