It’s no secret: Disney products often contain hidden details. Works like The Virgin Mary, The Lion King and many others flirt with these elements of nature, and so does Bernard and Bianca’s Adventures, which goes even further…

In the 1977 film, we follow two eponymous mice, members of the SOS Society, an international organization of mice living in the basement of the United Nations building in New York. Their goal is to help difficult people. Bianca, a flirtatious delegate, chooses Bernard, a gentle, shy and courageous mouse, to help a little kidnapped orphan named Penny.

Classified as a work aimed at children of all ages, one might think that there is nothing inappropriate about this film – and yet it contains the most controversial Easter egg. There have been rumors for years that the animated film would feature a nude woman, but the rumors were not confirmed until it was released on VHS.

At the time, Disney claimed the element was added in post-production and without the studio’s knowledge, apologized, and later pulled the tapes from the market. An easter egg was inserted during an intense action sequence that certainly contributed to many being overlooked.

So, later versions of the videos released on the market were corrected and removed all traces of the naked woman you see in the photo above.

Over the decades, the studio has encountered other controversial Easter eggs that have plunged the company into an urban legend, a legend theorized to have a tendency to insert surreptitious “adult” imagery into its films intended for children.

In any case, The Adventures of Bernard and Bianca (1977) — minus the naked woman, sorry — can still be seen streaming on Disney+.
