Gabigol reunited with Flamengo fans at the Maracanã and officially returned to the team this Wednesday (1). He revealed what his time away from football was like, following his suspension for attempted cheating on a doping test, and reiterated his innocence.
There were 45 days left for the club and the striker entered the second phase of the victory over Amazonas, in the Copa do Brasil.
– I felt good. The rhythm was missing, but the home training sessions were very good. The pace of the game is slightly different. Now is the time to work and dedicate yourself to the maximum, to be able to be more than 100%, to be 150%. It was a difficult period, but with the help of my family, friends, Flamengo and the fans… The evidence is there, the facts. Everything will be resolved. Missing this period was very bad, but now it’s time to look forward – said Gabigol, after Flamengo’s 1-0 victory.
The number 10 also assessed the Rubro-Negro match positively, but said that the team coached by Tite must improve.
– We played a good match. I think we need to improve, have a little more approach. We controlled the match, we didn’t suffer any danger, but we have to improve. (…) We have to improve as a team. I’m just one more. The desire is to help teammates. We have a great team, great fans – she concluded.

With Gabigol’s return, Flamengo will face Bragantino (4) on Saturday, in the fifth round of the Brasileirão.
