After 24 long years of waiting, a classic of Brazilian literature and cinema returns in its first sequel. “O Auto da Compadecida 2” received its first teaser this Thursday (2). And, if you saw the first one, you will get goosebumps and feel a lot of nostalgia and longing when you watch it.
The original story, made into a film in 2000, originally appeared in the books, starring Ariano Suassuna. The writer’s family has approved the sequel, which will be released on December 25 this year.
H20 Films and Conspiração, who are behind the film, will carry out actions focused on the film until its release, according to the I love cinema.

Directing, as in the first feature film, is Guel Arraes, now alongside Flávia Lacerda, who wants to bring Suassuna’s work to the cinema in an even more fabulous way.
“Cinema has progressed, technology has progressed, so we have the opportunity to bring an even more enchanting Northeast,” Arraes said a few months ago. The city of Taperoá will, once again, be recreated as it was 24 years ago, in the 1950s.
Of course the essence of the characters and the world that we read in the original work and saw in the first film will remain intact, however the actress Virginia Cavendish has given an idea of what we will see in the new feature film, with a certain “rejuvenation” ” :
“People are very curious to know what happened to the couple Rosinha and Chicó and I think the story will surprise everyone. In the new version, Rosinha became an advanced woman for her time,” she said.
