The young woman who lives with her mother in a McDonald’s in Leblon, southern Rio, said she didn’t see what they were doing as a problem and was scared of all the repercussions that would arise from the case. It is the first time that Bruna Muratori, 31, has spoken about the topic, but without providing many details on the circumstances of the situation.

“This shouldn’t have happened, this repercussion, these articles, stories. We were simply solving a situation that we didn’t see as a problem. This is quite common in other countries, Europe and the United States. People do it. To your question and reason, do you understand?,” she said.

In a podcast interview “Speak, Warrior!”, which aired on Thursday 2nd, told what his routine has been like since he started living at the restaurant. According to her, the employees do not mind their presence and the manager even offered her a job there after hearing her speaking in English to a tourist, but she did not accept. Bruna clarified that she has not held the position for three months, as has been reported.

“It’s a matter of survival. It’s not that time they talk about. It’s a month and a week at most. Because I was working, I was in another place. This is unrealistic [viver no local por três meses]. Impossible”, comments Bruna.

He also explains that it is not bad to live in that place and that the problem only became after the case was reported. «We’ll solve it here… Maybe in a few weeks, but we decide to just move on. But it didn’t end and it became a sensation,” she emphasized.

Bruna clarifies that her father helps them financially and that he is in the way, but due to her situation she asked to be removed. “I had to work while I was there, but it didn’t work, it was tiring,” she explained.

As for personal hygiene, the young woman said she currently relies on the help of a friend who lives in the region to shower. “It’s better than paying. My mother also goes to my friend’s house or [casa] from her friend,” she says.

Regarding the choice of location, another point that attracted attention, he explains that they chose a strategic point so as not to disturb the place of entry and exit. Bruna also reports that the two are waiting for the restaurant to reopen after closing at five in the morning. “We’ve been to other places, but it’s not dangerous, at least for us.”
