Actor David Corenswet, who will be the next Superman in cinemas, made his first public appearance this Monday (06) wearing the famous blue and red costume of the famous Kryptonian hero from DC Comics.
The person who revealed this to everyone was the director of the upcoming film, James Gunn. Through his personal Instagram profile, the filmmaker published a post in which Corenswet is wearing the costume, also announcing the release date of Superman: Legacyon July 11, 2025.
David Corenswet will be the fourth actor to bring Superman to life in theaters. The first to popularize the role on the big screen was the legendary Christopher Reeve, who played the character of Clark Kent and his alter ego in four films between 1978 and 1987.
In 2006 the first reboot of the character arrived, the actor Brandon Routh was the protagonist chosen for the film Superman: Returns. The third of them to play the hero was Henry Cavill, between 2013 and 2022, in four films (since the film Justice League was released twice, once in director Zack Snyder’s version).
The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan, who will play Lois Lane, the hero’s classic love interest, and Nicholas Hoult as his greatest enemy, Lex Luthor. Skyler Gisondo will play Jimmy Olsen, another major character in Clark’s universe, while Wendell Pierce will play Perry White, the editor of the Daily Planet.
