Due to an oxygen leak problem in a rocket valve, the launch was postponed and will probably be rescheduled for Tuesday night (7). Starliner was scheduled to inaugurate its first crewed test at 11.34pm (Brasilia time), directly from the Cape Canaveral Space Station, Florida, to the International Space Station (ISS).
“The engineering team assessed that the vehicle was not in the ideal configuration to continue the launch today,” a mission official warned on a live NASA television broadcast.
Crew
The two astronauts who will participate in the launch are Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Suni Williams, both former U.S. Navy test pilots and long-service astronaut veterans of the International Space Station. The goal is to bring them directly to the ISS, where the mission will have to spend seven days in the Station’s orbital complex.

If the launch takes place, Wilmore and Williams will be the first crew to leave Cape Canaveral since the Apollo 7 mission in 1968. They will also be the first humans to fly into space aboard an Atals rocket since Gordon Cooper did so, in a Mercury Atlas. -9 in 1963.
