The Ministry of Culture’s free streaming will focus on national productions

According to information from the Ministry of Culture, a completely free Brazilian streaming platform will be launched by the end of the year Sheet. The service will place emphasis on national productions.

The Ministry of Culture says the initiative, promoted by the Audiovisual Secretariat (SAV), aims to “promote Brazil’s cultural diversity by making a wide range of national audiovisual content available for free, including films, series and documentaries”.

The project is currently still in the final adaptation phase, but the government’s plan is to launch the platform in the second half of this year.

As a goal, the Ministry of Culture could, through a democratic instrument, bring more Brazilian audiovisual productions to the consumption of Brazilian citizens.

The productions that will be streamed by the Ministry of Culture have not yet been specified

Although it does not focus on national productions, there are already free streaming services that the public can access, until the Ministry of Culture’s new service is actually launched.

One of these is Sesc Digital, a platform that makes the actions of Sesc São Paulo available to the digital environment, offering films, courses, records and shows.

There is also Itaú Cultural Play, with a catalog of free films, curated by Itaú Cultural. They consist of national productions, as well as programming from the country’s film festivals and partner institutions.

You can access the catalog of this service from a device with Internet access (computer, mobile phone, tablet, Chromecast), Apple TV or LG Smart TV.
