WhatsApp tests the new zoom button on the iPhone camera

WhatsApp Beta for iOS has started testing a new zoom button on the app’s camera to provide more convenience in recording and taking photos

For those who like to use the camera to send photos and videos directly via Whatsapp, the messenger prepares a new feature: a dedicated zoom button. The new feature already appears to some testers in the 24.9.10.75 update of the Beta version of the iOS application, accessible exclusively through the TestFlight Beta program – the information comes from the WABetaInfo site.

The feature appears when you access the camera within Zap and is located next to the photo/record button. It’s worth noting that in previous versions of iOS you had to keep your finger on the camera button, while using other fingers to control the zoom level while shooting, something similar to what you find in Telegram, For example. Therefore, the results were not always satisfactory.

The purpose of the tests is likely to be to provide convenience and greater accuracy when filming and taking photos. However, although some testers already have access to the new feature, there is not yet a precise date for the arrival of this option in the stable version of the messenger.

WhatsApp Beta continues to receive news

Since this is a Beta version of Zap, it is normal to wait for several tests from time to time. Some end up being sidelined, while others make it to the stable version of the app.

Typically, each update brings small changes aimed at convenience and a better overall experience. The Beta on iOS, for example, recently received a new color palette location in photo editorwhile Android started testing the file favorites list to facilitate messaging calls.
