Attention The Office fans! A new iteration of the iconic series that drove Steve Carell is in the works. After several weeks of development, Deadline Confirms that this new series has been officially commissioned by Peacock.

The creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, is teaming up with Michael Coman, former Late Night with Conan O’Brien writer, for this new fiction that’s as much spin-off as it is part same. The universe, as an original series, is itself adapted from Ricky Gervais’s very first British fiction.

This new The Office series will also be a mockumentary, meaning fiction that takes on a mockumentary form, and it will focus on an entirely new set of employees. In the upcoming fiction, the film crew that has followed Michael, Jim, Pam, Dwight and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin gang for years is looking for a new subject.

He decides to take a look at a historic Midwestern newspaper whose publisher is trying to revive it with the help of volunteer journalists, and sets out to film office life in the newsroom. On the casting side, two names have already been announced: Domhnall Gleeson (Time, Ex Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (White Lotus).

According to Deadline, Greg Daniels has asked his top writers to write several episodes of the first seasons of the new series The Office. Casting is still underway for the office staff, and another lead actor or actress may be added to the cast.

Now officially ordered, this new series of The Office is in advanced development and production is set to begin in July. While you wait to learn more about this new fiction, you can always watch The Office at your leisure, all episodes of which are available on Netflix in France.
