Aucas is condemned by FIFA for the payment of prizes

The Ecuadorian club’s debt refers to the amount for an unprecedented national title in 2022

Ecuadorian champion in 2022 and current leader of the same competition, Aucas is experiencing one of his most glorious moments in the sporting field. The administrative situation of the club, however, goes in the opposite direction.

Thus, the club from the capital of Ecuador received a sentence from FIFA in a case in which seven former players ask for sums relating to the prize for the result obtained two years ago. The total pending amount is 350 thousand dollars, equal to R$ 1.8 million at the current exchange rate.

The former Aucas athletes involved in the case brought to the world football governing body are defenders Cain Fara (Emelec) and Ricardo Adé (LDU), midfielders Sergio López (Almagro) and Nicolás Silva (Cusco) as well as forwards Francisco Fydriszewski (Barcelona de Guayaquil), Víctor Figueroa (Chacarita Juniors) and Juan Tévez, now also in Cusco.

Under the legislation provided for in these cases, the club from the capital of Ecuador has 45 days to pay off the debt without any type of sanction. Otherwise, there is a real possibility that the club will receive a so-called Transfer Ban, which prevents it from signing new players.

No originality

This situation, in fact, is not the first time it has occurred in Aucas’ recent past, even if the reason is different. This is because the entity already has problems prohibiting ongoing enrollments due to the debt to the University of Chile. The reason is the failure to pay 56 thousand dollars (R$ 288.1 thousand) when it agreed to purchase an economic percentage of the rights of the archer Hernán Galíndez. This figure, in fact, is no longer part of the Pope’s ranks, having moved to Huracán.
