Last week, Louis Leterrier announced that Fast & Furious 11, the final installment in the $7.3 billion-grossing saga, would not begin filming until early 2025, for a September 2026 release.

Rather than putting his body and soul into the eleventh film of the saga featuring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang and more, the French filmmaker will be making a horror film this summer called 11817.

“I’m going to do a little horror movie this summer, I finish my movie on September 15th and I start work on Fast on September 16th!He said during the panel held at CCXP MX.

And the casting for 11817 has just been revealed! Kingsley Ben-Adri, who plays Bob Marley in the biopic about the King of Reggae, which opened in theaters last February, and Greta Lee, the actress who recently appeared in the cast of Past Lives, nominated for the Oscar for best picture, are in talks. The main roles in this film, which combines science fiction and horror.

The film is produced by Omar Sai

The film is written by Matthew Robinson and produced by Louis Leterrier, Omar Sy and Thomas Bensky through their new production company Carrousel Studios. This is the first work of the studio. 11817 will begin filming this summer before Fast & Furious 11 is slated for release in 2025.

For his part, Vin Diesel is taking advantage of the delay in the last film of the motorized saga, and on August 26 begins shooting the fourth part of Riddick.
