Ibovespa closes high with the balance sheets in focus and waiting for minutes from BC

The Ibovespa closed higher this Monday, amid the repercussions of corporate results, with emphasis on Azul, BTG Pactual and Yduqs, while the end of the day reserves the quarterly performances of Petrobras and Natura&Co, among others.

Investors are also awaiting the minutes of the Brazilian central bank’s latest monetary policy meeting before the open on Tuesday, especially after last week’s split decision, which cut the Selic rate to 10.50% annually.

The benchmark index of the Brazilian stock exchange, Ibovespa, rose by 0.52%, to 128,260.97 points, according to preliminary data, after reaching a high of 128,669.39 points and a low of 127,598.83 points.

The financial volume amounted to 15.99 billion reais before adjustments, from a daily average over the year of 23.95 billion reais.

The external agenda is another component in the spotlight, with the focus on US inflation data, primarily the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for April on Wednesday.
