Last Friday (10th) the band Kings Of Leon released their long-awaited album. Can we have some fun, pleasethat has 12 new tracks and is now available on digital platforms via Universal musicthrough Capitol Records.
The group took control of all the creative elements of this record, from start to finish, handling every detail from the music to the art direction and (as highlighted in the video) the unconventional visuals for each song. They were all filmed entirely by themselves over the course of two days Nashville (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA).
The previously released lead single, Mustang, continues to top the radio charts week after week. The song is currently in the TOP 10 of American alternative radio and in the TOP 5 of radio Triple A. Regular in the radio charts, the King of Leon have in Mustang his ninth single entered the TOP 10 of the American alternative radio.
It’s the kind of song the band says they’ve always wanted to make: “This record felt special from the beginning. From the first meeting (with Kid Harpoon), we couldn’t be on the same page anymore,” says Nathan. “It was the most fun record I’ve ever been a part of,” He says Caleb. “It’s like we allow ourselves to be musically vulnerable”he adds Nathan. “I like it when a rock band isn’t ashamed to admit that not every song has to be at its best.”
Recorded in the studio Black Horse, In Nashville (USA), and produced with a new collaborator Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Florence + the Machine), the album presents a new side of King of Leon which returns to its raw origins, but finds new paths. Sonically, you can hear them unified in vision and purpose.
“When you have a band, there’s a bond like no other, and when you have a family, there’s a bond like no other”He says Caleb. “We have both. I thought, ‘If we put all our energy into something, who’s going to stop us? Who can stop us but ourselves?'”
