Nicolas Cage will return as Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series

Actor Nicolas Cage will return to play Spider-Man Noir, the monochromatic one who appeared in the first animation of the Aranhaverso saga. However, this time Cage will return to the character in a live-action Prime Video series, in development from February 2023.

What is known about the live-action Spider-Man Noir series

The series Noir will tell the story of an old down-on-his-luck private investigator forced to deal with his past life as the only superhero in town. The backdrop of the plot will obviously be New York. But in the 30s, according to Variety.

Spider-Man Noir will appear in live-action for the first time

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement about expanding the Marvel universe with the Noir series. He highlighted the choice of Nicolas Cage for the lead role, describing him as ideal for the character, and praised the production team, which includes Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.

The series will mark the first time the character will appear in a live-action format. The production was developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who will also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Uziel and Lightfoot worked collaboratively with the animation team on the original Aranhaverse saga. The idea was to ensure creative continuity. Additionally, Harry Bradbeer will serve as executive producer and direct the first two episodes of Noir.

Noir will be Nicolas Cage’s first series regular

Katherine Pope, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios, expressed great enthusiasm for Cage’s participation. She highlighted the actor’s unique ability to bring emotional depth to the character.

This role will be Cage’s first as a regular on a TV series. The actor is widely recognized for his film career, having received an Oscar for Farewell to Las Vegas and a nomination for Adaptation.

Cage is also known for his roles in films such as Sunrise, The Other Face, and Ghost Rider, another dark Marvel character.
