Why is ‘Brigerton’ season 3 about Penelope and Colin and not Benedict?
“Bridgerton” showrunner Jess Brownell explained in an interview with “Variety” that the decision to focus on Penelope and Colin instead of Benedict in season three was due to the fact that “it was about time” for the couple: “As we’ve been watching these two actors on our screens since Season 1, we’re already a little invested in them. We know who they are as people.”
“Instead of staying stuck in that momentum, we wanted to take it forward this season,” he added.
Luke Newton, the actor who plays Colin on Bridgerton, agreed that, given what was known about the story, it was best to promote the romance of Pauline: “The writing of the first season was so clever that from the first the moment you see them, you see that they have that history, but you also see that there’s that connection,” he told Town & Country magazine.
The interpreter believes that if the third season had followed the order of the books, fans could have been disappointed with Colin because he “didn’t realize what was in front of him”: “(They would say) “You missed your chance! He has to move on.” So I feel like it’s the perfect time (Pauline).
When does the second part of ‘Bridgerton’ season 3 premiere?
The final four episodes of the series will premiere on June 13 on Netflix.

Although the third season deviated from the book series, it has not yet been revealed who will star in the fourth season.
