According to the IT website Chosun, given the prohibitive price, LG would have discontinued the production of the Signature R OLED TV, which stood out for its exclusive roll-up screen design.
Six years after attracting attention with the Signature R TV for its rollable 4K OLED screen, the LG may have canceled the ambitious product. According to the portal IT Chosunthe brand would have already repositioned its production lines for other television models.

The reasons for the alleged cancellation have not been confirmed, but it is possible that the product did not achieve the desired success, as one of the major factors is indicated in the prohibitive price: in addition to the flexible screen, also the television attracted attention for the price of 100 thousand dollars, approximately R$513 thousand in the current conversion. The amount charged was considered very high for a television of “only” 65 inches and 4K resolution.
In addition to the flexible panel, the product has a lower base that supports the screen and functions as a 100W soundbar, which may have contributed to the exaggerated price.
The TV spent its first three years only as displays at trade shows like CES, and sales began in 2021. Since then, it has appeared alongside with LG’s other latest premium TVs.

Although it appears to have discontinued one of its most innovative televisions, LG continues to offer other options that deviate from the traditional ones. That’s it from OLED T, a transparent television that works almost wirelessly, and which is expected to launch later this year.
Another peculiar option is the Stanby Go model, with a construction that can be stored inside a briefcase. The brand’s goal is to offer a product that can easily be taken anywhere, including outdoor gatherings.
The very idea of promoting products with displays in formats that deviate from the standard is nothing new for LG, which presented the G Flex line of smartphones with a rollable display. The company has also ventured into dual-screen models like the G8X ThinQ, Furthermore Wing was launched shortly before the company gave up on the cell phone market.
