If you’re a fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme, you probably know that he directed Le Grand Tournoi, a martial arts film that hit theaters in 1996, in which he starred alongside James Bond, Roger Moore, no less than this! But did you know that JCVD made another feature film in 2008 that he was unable to screen for the general public?
A film that Van Damme (one of whose very muscular opus might have made Ryan Gosling a star) made more than fifteen years ago and which has never seen the light of day is The Way of the Eagle. The story of Francis, who falls in love with a prostitute in Thailand and tries to free himself from the influence of his pimp.
Jean Claude Van Damme Eagle Road was filmed in Thailand in July 2008 in Bangkok and Pattaya. The Belgian was obviously very interested in this project with a budget of 5 million dollars, because in addition to directing and starring, he also works as a screenwriter and producer.
Described by the bodybuilder star as a cross between The Footprint of Death, in which he starred in 2004, and the classic Casablanca, directed by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Eagle Trail Presented at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival in search of a distributor. Unfortunately for Van Damme, the feature film, the trailer of which can be seen below, is not attracting or finding takers…

No doubt the reason why JCVD has been desperately trying to bring this project to the screen for over fifteen years…
