The next chapters of the remake of Reborn will show the public a meaningful apology following an act of transphobia. Meire (Malu Galli), mother of Buba (Gabriela Medeiros), he will regret having humiliated his daughter, especially after Buba receives the support of José Augusto (Renan Monteiro) to face his parents.
Meire will feel very guilty for not recognizing her daughter after her gender transition and will chase Buba to the cemetery, where she will find her visiting her grandmother’s grave. The scenes should be shown in this Saturday’s episode, May 18, at Renascer.
The prejudiced woman will ask Buba why he decided to undergo gender transition. It will also reinforce that the young woman was born a “normal boy” and that now this whole situation no longer makes sense to her.
“I can’t understand… It’s something that doesn’t cross my mind, sorry… If you were born like this… Why? You were a normal boy. A beautiful boy, like all boys… . . And suddenly”the housewife will say.
Meire has a painful request for forgiveness
Rejected by her parents, Buba will decide to visit her grandparents’ grave in the company of José Augusto. When she arrives there, she will meet Meire and feel deeply uncomfortable, as her mother has not yet fully accepted her gender transition.
“If I had known I would find you here I wouldn’t have even come. I should have left when you slammed the door in my face!”Buba will say.
Meire will say that there wasn’t a day during the eleven years that he didn’t think about her. In the end, the housewife will ask for forgiveness for everything she put Buba through: “Forgive me! Forgive me for everything I put you through… Forgive me for not understanding you, for not being on your side… Forgive me? Forgive me for not being able to be the mother you needed all these years?”he will ask.
