A new Panorama Mobile Time / Opinion Box survey on app usage in Brazil showed that the percentage of Brazilians with smartphones who subscribe to one or more movie and series streaming services in Brazil increased by 10 percentage points in one year. , from 56 to 66%.
The penetration of streaming services for films and series is 76% in classes A and B and 63% in classes C, D and E. In the analysis by age group, subscribers are concentrated in the 16 to 29 age group ( 73%) compared to those aged between 30 and 49 (67%) and aged 59 or older (54%).
Distributing movie and series catalogs across multiple platforms leads consumers to subscribe to more than one streaming app. Among those who pay for this type of service, 38% subscribe only one, while 62% subscribe two or more.
Netflix remains the undisputed leader in this segment, being subscribed by 81% of streaming movie or series users. Followed by Amazon Prime Video (43%), Disney + (21%), Globoplay (19%) and HBO Max (18%).
The new edition of the Panorama Mobile Time / Opinion Box survey on the use of apps interviewed 2,041 Brazilians using smartphones from 13 to 23 April. The research has statistical validity with national coverage, respecting in its sample the proportions by gender, age group, monthly family income and geographical distribution of the universe of Brazilians who access the Internet. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points and the confidence level is 95%. The survey has Portuguese and English versions and can be downloaded for free here.
