Even though they were scared in the first set, Brazil overwhelmed Serbia and won by 3 sets to 0 (25/15, 25/19 and 25/19), this Sunday morning (19th), at the Maracanãzinho gym, in Rio de Janeiro. Diana (7), Carol (3), Roberta (2), Júlia Bergmann (2) and Júlia Kudiess (1) also scored. On the Serbian side, Bjelica scored six points, while Maselesic, Lozo and Bukilic scored four each.

With this result, Brazil achieved four wins in four matches in the VNL and ended the first week with 100% success. The team led by Zé Roberto Guimarães has 12 points and is currently leading the competition. Poland, who also won their first three matches, are currently playing Japan and could move top of the table if they win 3-0 or 3-1.
Having concluded the first stage, Brazil now leaves for Macao, where from 28 May to 2 June, in the early hours of the morning, they will face Japan, Holland, Italy and Thailand. The team will then travel to Hong Kong, where they will face Poland, Germany, Bulgaria and Türkiye. The top seven in the general classification, as well as Thailand (host country), will advance to the VNL final.
