HPI on TF1: Why not miss the Thursday 30 May episode?

For three weeks now, TF1 has aired a new, unreleased episode of Season 4 of HPI, its flagship detective series, which continues to break all records, every Thursday night. And since it began in 2021, Morgan (Audrey Fleurot) and Karadek (Mehdi Nebibo, who is not leaving the series) have made a habit of working on investigations, each one more unusual than the other.

After breaking into an ashram, investigating a vampire or dressing up as a street fighter character, the writers still have some nice surprises for us for the fourth round of episodes, especially in episode 3, which airs on Thursday, May 30 at 9 p.m. 10:00 on TF1.

Time travel through the ages

During our meeting at the La Rochelle Arts Festival last September, Audrey Fleuro warned us: Season 4 will also have the right to have unique episodes of its kind, especially where the characters go.time travel“.

A very special episode which is the third episode of season 4 called “Penicillium Brevicaule“. While her children force her to contact other potential fathers of her child, Morgan calls for a new investigation: 85-year-old Antoine Brussin, author of detective novels, is found dead in a secret room in his house.

Very quickly the consultant discovers that a strange woman is haunting the place and killing its inhabitants. As he conducts his investigation, Morgan travels between eras to understand the origins of this strange legend. Bruno Sanchez, dressed as a maid, and Audrey Fleur, sporting a magnificent mustache, in the show.

A unique episode not to be missed

Last March, AlloCiné sat down with Julien Anscater and Alice Chegaray-Brunot, two of HPI’s writing directors, to tell us about this unusual episode in the world of detective series. And one thing is clear, the two authors are never short of ideas.

We love taking references from different genres, be it thriller, fantasy or whatever, and dipping them into the HPI sauce.“, Alisa Chegarai-Bruno explained to us.

It’s a game, we always try to keep it in the spirit of the series. And there, for time travel, it’s an investigation that takes place in three eras because there’s a mystery in the house and it goes through three periods..”

The fact that Morgan has flashes and can project his ideas allows for a lot. This process gives us a lot of freedom. So, in episode 3 of this investigation, it’s him who reflects on what could have happened in a different era. He puts his familiar characters on stage, especially with Karadec.”

It’s a lot of fun to write. It’s a real writing challenge, but we really like playing with code. And every time, it’s successful when we say to ourselves: “It couldn’t have been done in another series”.”

Catch HPI Season 4 Episode 3 on Thursday, May 30 at 9:10pm on TF1. For those who are more impatient, the episode is already available for preview on the TF1+ platform.
