Increasingly popular in Brazil, electric cars start at R$99,000; discover the 5 cheapest on the national market
Electric cars have become increasingly popular in Brazil. After the arrival of the Chinese brands BYD and GWM, the average price of electric cars has become more affordable and it has become more common to see them on Brazilian roads. Traditional automakers have also reduced the prices of their electric vehicles to remain competitive.
Although they are not yet the majority, electric cars are selling more and more in Brazil. According to Fenabrave, the best-selling electric car in the country in April 2024 was the BYD Dolphin Mini, which sold 3,143 units. It was followed by its bigger brother Dolphin, which sold 1,619 units. This week, Volvo officially launched the EX30, which starts at R$ 229,950 and has already reserved more than 2 thousand units in pre-sale.
But what are the most affordable electric cars in Brazil today? To find this answer, we have selected the five cheapest 100% electric cars on sale in Brazil, considering the prices of the cheapest versions available on the manufacturers’ websites, regardless of the body type. Watch:
