Has the clock stopped ticking?
HBO he has stopped the filming of ‘The time traveler’s wife’ after one season.
Despite hopes for a second season, reuniting us with the strangely troubled Clare Abshire (Rose Leslie) and Henry DeTamble (Theo James) -which bounces uncontrollably in the space-time continuum-, the American chain has announced this week that it will not go ahead with the series (according to the medium ‘TVLine’) starring the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress (we, by the way, are still looking forward to Jon Snow’s ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-off, the brainchild of Kit Harrington.
“While HBO will not be moving forward with a second season of ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife,’ it was a privilege for us to partner with the masters of history Steven Moffat and David Nutter.”
“We are so grateful for your passion, hard work, and care in adapting this beloved book. Also we thank Theo and Roseand the rest of our brilliant cast for their heartfelt performanceswhich have completely captivated audiences,” says the HBO Max statement.
The first season, including, of course, the explained ending of ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’, adapted less than half of the original novel by Audrey Niffenegger, and the director of the series, Moffat, had already anticipated that it had a vision of his television future.
“I had a plan on how many seasons we would do -I do not tell you! – and where each one would end up and how far it would take them,” said the former Doctor Who producer.
“There is enough juice in the book for more than one [temporada]. But at the same time, he would still call it a limited series because it can’t go on forever. It has to stop”.
“We already know quite a bit about how it ends. In the third episode, you know he’s going to get shot in a forest. You know he’s going to lose his feet at some point. So it’s a story about destiny, I guess. The end is embedded in the beginning“, Explain.
Another series that bites the dust.
