By the first half of June around 25 thousand families should receive prepaid cards with pix donations

For the last week of May it is expected that 6,263 families will be covered by the distribution of the SOS Rio Grande do Sul prepaid card

The first week of delivery of the prepaid cards ends with R$ 2,000 from donations via pix, for a total of R$ 4.142 million distributed to 2,071 people in 13 municipalities of the Vale do Taquari and the Metropolitan Region. At this rate, the forecast is that the approximately 25 thousand families mapped in the first phase will receive the amounts by 12 June.

The residents of Lajeado and Estrela went to collect their SOS Rio Grande do Sul cards this Friday (24th). In both cities, the service was carried out by Caixa employees, who finalize the payment for the names informed after cross-referencing the data made by. the Department of Economics and Statistics (DEE), linked to the Secretariat of Planning, Governance and Management (SPGG), with people who meet the program criteria (see what they are below).

At Tudo Fácil in Lajeado, Aline Maria Hauschild was one of the first to arrive as soon as the service opened. She said she plans to use the funds to restore part of the home’s structure, damaged in the flood earlier this month.

When he was informed that he would be entitled to R$2,000, Marcelo de Oliveira Couto left the cleaning he was doing and went to the Tudo Fácil in the city. “As soon as I leave the shelter I will buy a stove and a cot for the child, who was left without because of the flood,” he said.

Eduardo Alves da Silva’s house was also affected and he will use the funds to repair his residence. “I thank the state government for this sum which, today, makes a lot of difference for me, because I lost everything”, he underlined.

Haitian-born Marckenson Pierre Charles, who has lived in Brazil for 11 years, said the sum he received “will help a lot” to purchase goods for his home. Everything inside was lost due to the flood.

On the other bank of the Taquari River, in Estrela, the movement was also intense at the service point for the delivery of SOS Rio Grande do Sul postcards. Despite the heavy rain and wind in the early afternoon in the city, Auri Cardoso went to the town hall to receive her card. “I learned about the relief through social media and from the governor himself. I want to thank him, the companies and the community in general for making the sum available,” she said, saying she intends to buy a stove.

Thinking about purchasing furniture, Velmira da Rosa dos Santos said the value is very welcome. “For us, who are left with nothing, this help represents a lot”, she underlined.

Márcia da Silva said she will use the sum to turn on the lights in the house. “There was a short circuit and I have been in the dark since the flood started,” she said. Part of the funds received will pay for the electrician and materials needed for the repair.
