Chris Hemsworth will play the villain in “Furiosa,” a prequel to “Mad Max,” centering on the title character played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film.

There isn’t much information about Hemsworth’s character in the prequel yet. According to information from SlashFilm, PJ Voeten, producer of “Furiosa”, commented on how George Miller, the director of the film, turned to the actor for the role. “Initially, George had a meeting with Chris just out of courtesy, but eventually he fell in love with the idea of casting him for this role. He’s going to play something he never plays, which is the main villain in the story.”
The recently released official synopsis of the film indicates that the name of Hemsworth’s character in “Furiosa” is likely warlord Dementus, the leader of a gang who kidnaps a young Furiosa and ends up clashing with Immortan Joe, a character well known in “Mad”. Max: Road of Fury ”.
