Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga It hit theaters last weekend and, according to Boxoffice data, failed to meet revenue expectations, making it the franchise’s worst debut in nearly 30 years. Directed by George Miller, the prequel to Mad Max: Road Fury (2015) earned just $25.5 million, far less than the expected $40 million.
Angry takes place years before the events of Mad Max: Road Fury. The plot follows the events of the title character’s youth and shows how the young woman ended up in the hands of a group of bikers led by the warlord Dementus (Hemsworth) and her saga of trying to return home.
For those who are not used to the story, Mad Max is a post-apocalyptic saga released in 1979. The original film had two sequels, in 1981 and 1985. The film brought actor Mel Gibson to stardom.
It is worth noting that Miller directed all the films in the saga. Box office success, Way of Fury won six statuettes at the 2016 Oscars: art direction, editing, sound editing, sound mixing, costume design and makeup.
The film is now also available in cinemas across Brazil.
