A 57-year-old cyclist was beaten and thrown into the Belém river after being attacked, in the early hours of this Tuesday (28), in the Centro Cívico neighborhood, in Curitiba (PR).
The victim reported that she was cycling along the cycle path around 1am when she was approached and attacked by three thieves. Before stealing the bicycle, cell phone and wallet containing R$1,000, the three attacked the cyclist. He had withdrawn the money from a bank branch a few hours before the crime.
After the attacks, he was thrown into the Belém River and the criminals fled. A few minutes later, the manager of a residential building heard the man’s cries for help.
“I entered the apartment and heard the boy screaming for help and asking to call the police. At that moment I thought: it might be a scam if someone came to help him. I asked him if he wanted me to call the police, and he said : ‘I want, I want, I want to die!'” Eliane Coutinho reported B band.
Eliane asked the building’s doorman for help and the victim was rescued with the help of a ladder. “While the doorman was helping him, I called the firefighters, Samu and the Military Police,” she added.

The man, whose identity was not revealed, was taken to Cajuru University Hospital with suspected hypothermia.
The thieves had not been located until this report was published.
