The driver who took a wrong turn and killed Evandro Ramos, 38, and Johann Martins de Jesus Ramos, 15, has been charged with double murder. The raid took place in Linha Verde, Curitiba, on the night of May 11th. Driver Cristian Patrick Garcia Carvalho, 29, is free in the case.
According to the Paraná Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPPR), Cristian was driving a Hyundai Veloster and acted intentionally, “that is, running the risk of causing the consequence, he killed, through a collision between vehicles”.
After the accident the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. According to the civil police, however, the case was treated as manslaughter – when there is no intention to kill – and negligent injury while driving a motor vehicle. He was released provisionally without the need to post bail.
In addition to the double murder, according to the MPPR there were also two attempted murders. One against Tânia Valquíria Martins and another against the fourth occupant of Celta, little Miguel, aged 2.

Last Saturday (25th), family and friends of the Ramos family organized a protest to demand justice. The event started in Boca Maldita and continued at Praça Santos Andrade.
