After the success of The Gentlemen on Netflix, Guy Ritchie is already working on his next series project. The filmmaker will actually produce and direct the upcoming fiction, which has been officially ordered by Prime Video variety.

And for this project, Guy Ritchie will find a famous character that he has already portrayed in the cinema, namely Sherlock Holmes. About fifteen years after filming Sherlock Holmes and its sequel Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, the British director will prepare a series that will focus on the youth of Sherlock Holmes.

“Then” hero as a young Sherlock Holmes

Created by Matthew Parkhill, this series titled Young Sherlock is adapted from Andy Lane’s literary series about the adventures of young Sherlock Holmes. We find this character at the age of 19, with no experience, when he finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery at Oxford University.

Stuck in his first job with an apparent lack of discipline, a young man tries to unravel a conspiracy that could change his life forever.

Young Sherlock will be played by Fiennes Tiffin, known for his role as Hardin in the After Saga and young Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter saga. This will be Hero Fines Tiffin and Guy Ritchie’s second collaboration after the director directed the actor in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which is due for release in France soon.

In a press release, Guy Ritchie expressed his admiration for the direction and production of this series:

“In Young Sherlock, we will see an exciting new version of the detective who everyone thinks they know more than they ever imagined. We will discover this mysterious character, find out what motivates him and find out how he becomes a genius. We all love each other.”
