Fábio Pizzamiglio, president of the club, speaks of solidarity with Rio Grande do Sul amid the damage caused by the floods

The team will face Fluminense this Saturday (1), at 6pm (Brasilia time), at the Maracanã, in the 7th round of the Brasileirão. Fábio Pizzamiglio, president of the club, underlined the importance of the competition, which was suspended for two weeks due to damage caused by rain in several cities in Rio Grande do Sul.
“In Caxias the Alfredo Jaconi stadium and the CT were little affected, but in Porto Alegre the damage was very great. There was no climate for football to continue. We managed to get the support of most of the clubs to stop the championship”, declared the leader.
“Even if in the return the clubs go through a shorter recovery period between one match and another, there is space in the calendar for the matches to take place. Now the situation is a little more under control and we can start thinking about the football,” he said. added.

“We know about the rivalry that exists between the clubs here in Rio Grande Sul, but it is small in a moment like the one we are experiencing in the state. This has already happened to us there. L’Esportivo gave us its stadium at that time we had one need on another occasion, we performed at the Arena do Grêmio. At this moment, it is something that transcends the rivalry. Rio Grande do Sul needs empathy and help.
